Abstract
Cofferdam work on dam construction has the potential for hazard risks in terms of occupational health and safety (OHS) such as extreme conditions such as weather and natural disasters. This study aims to identify and analyse these hazards using the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) methods. The results showed that there were 16 potential hazard risks including 12 hazards identified as moderate risks and 4 hazards identified as low risks. The percentage of dominant risk from Risk Priority Number (RPN) value shows that the highest percentage is 9.69% for the risk of cofferdam collapse due to extreme rain/flood. The control technique is used based on the hierarchy of control such as elimination, substitution, engineering control, personal protective equipment (PPE).
