Abstract
Good road connectivity links cities and towns leading to growth and development. Through infrastructural investment in the North-South Railway Project (NSRP), the Philippines is also pursuing green investment as it helps its citizens to opt for public transportation. The project is part of the government’s plan to boost urban and economic growth in the islands’ most populous districts by providing high-quality passenger rail service. Because of these, this study aims to assess the influence of the infrastructure development of North–South Commuter Railway on the tourism industry of Bulacan. This study also evaluates the NSCR’s infrastructure development’s intermodal, technical, and economic impacts on Bulacan residents. The study also examines the NSCR project’s local economic impact in Bulacan using job opportunities, investors, and land value as KPIs. Moreover, the study utilized a quantitative research design specifically descriptive-quantitative method. Also, the study used researcher-made questionnaires validated by tourism experts. The study found out that there is a perceived local economic effect on the North-South Commuter Railway (Malolos-Tutuban) infrastructural development in terms of: job opportunities, investors, and land value in Bulacan and other cities. The study concludes that this will have an extreme influence on the tourism industry of Bulacan.
