Abstract
Abstract
Bamboo plants are one of the natural materials that are often seen growing and quite fast; Bamboo has been extensively researched for use as an alternative to steel reinforcement in concrete construction. Bamboo is not only more accessible, it is also more cost effective and beneficial for the environment. This study examines the bonding strength of bamboo reinforcement in concrete. Buluhpring bamboo from the Gowa area which has been dried and checked for quality is the bamboo material used. A simple cylindrical concrete specimen measuring 150 mm x 300 mm was used for testing the compressive strength of concrete after 28 days and obtained a result of 25.35 MPa. The Pull-Out test was carried out on 28-day cylindrical concrete measuring 150 mm x 300 mm which was planted with parallel and non-parallel U type bamboo reinforcement in it to determine the bond strength of the test object. The result of concrete with parallel bamboo reinforcement type U is 0.79 MPa and concrete with non-parallel bamboo reinforcement type U is 0.69 MPa. Based on the test, concrete with U-type parallel notch bamboo reinforcement is stronger than U-type non-parallel bamboo notch reinforcement.
