Abstract
The Matrix Converter (MC), also acknowledged as an AC/AC converter, represents a singular one-stage converter that consolidates the multiple conversion stages and intermediary energy storage components inherent in direct converters into a unified power conversion process. This novel design enables the establishment of a variable output voltage system characterized by unrestricted frequency adaptability. MC employs a set of controlled bidirectional switches as their primary power components. The current investigation focuses on the modelling and simulation of MCs, specifically addressing 1-Φ to 1-Φ, 2-Φ to 1-Φ, 3-Φ to 1-Φ, and 3-Φ to 3-Φ configurations. The simulation is executed using MATLAB/Simulink, yielding comprehensive outcomes for diverse MC setups.
