Mineral elements and heavy metals in plant composition Pectorales species No. 2

Abstract

Abstract The authors analyzed the elemental and mineral content of the plant composition Pectorales species No. 2 (PS No.2) which includes herbal raw materials coltsfoot leaves, plantain leaves, licorice roots by ICP-MS. 25 elements have been identified in PS No.2. The highest content was reached by potassium (2243.13 mg/kg), calcium (881.14 mg/kg) and magnesium (156,08 mg/kg). The content of lead (0.007 mg/kg), cadmium (0.0035 mg/kg), mercury (0.0011 mg/kg) and arsenic (0.0056 mg/kg) does not exceed the MPC specified in the in the State Pharmacopoeia of the Russian Federation, XIV edition.
