Abstract
This paper has reviewed the application of the damped least square inversion method for the VES (vertical electrical sounding) with Schlumberger array. The damped least squares solved using singular value decomposition were applied in Bakung Landfill to determine the aquifer contaminated by leachate. The ability of damped Least Squares inversion algorithm were verified using the resistivity variation of synthetic model which simulates aquifer layer of subsurface. Based on the results of 1D resistivity model, low resistivity zone can be used to identify the existence leachate contaminants of aquifer.
