Abstract
Abstract
The growing consumption of resources in a linear economy, the associated negative impact of anthropogenic factors, and the incredibly large volumes of waste determine an increasing number of arguments for turning to a circular economy. The principles of the circular economy are designed to ensure sustainable consumption and production processes. There is a lack of empirical research on the possibility of changing the linear economy model to the model of circular economy in the Altai Krai. This paper analyzes the possibility of transiting to a circular economy based on waste circulation in the Altai Krai. The authors discuss barriers and opportunities for such a change. The main conclusions point to the lack of sufficient conditions for a change from a linear to a circular economy in the region.
