Abstract

Abstract Bioenergy is the most promising type of renewable renewable energy (RRE) in Russia, which has a huge potential for using agricultural waste, wood processing, food processing, and urban treatment facilities. In turn, the most attractive segment of bioenergy for investors is the production of biogas, which can provide additional sources of income from the sale of organic fertilizers and fees for the safe disposal of organic waste. The main advantage of biogas energy in Russia in comparison with other types of RRE and traditional energy carriers is the availability of raw materials for the operation of the plant, respectively, the complete absence of fuel costs in the structure of operating expenses, since in 95% of cases, waste goes to the owner of the plant free of charge. Applying an integrated approach to projects with mandatory solutions to both energy and environmental problems will ensure an unprecedented growth of the biogas industry in the coming years.
