Abstract
The paper is dedicated to the experimental studies and numerical modeling of the airflow in a 3D cylindrical bifurcation. The computations are performed with the standard k – ε turbulence model implemented in the ANSYS Fluid Flow (Fluent) code of Workbench 2021R1. The direct visualizations and the numerical results are corroborated, with the aim to investigate the evolution of the vortical structures and the distribution of the flow rate in the bifurcation.
