Abstract

Abstract Drought stress is one of the factors that affect plant growth, both in terms of morphology and physiology. Bantul M4 local black rice produces crops that have high proline content and low production. This study aims to examine the response to morphology, physiology and selection of M5 black rice irradiated by gamma rays which are tolerant to drought stress. This research was conducted in the Taman Keceh screen house, Wonogiri Regency at an altitude of 141 masl from June to September 2021. This study used a non-replicated experimental design with drought stress treatment using 50% and 100% water gravimetry. Observation of morphological characters by measuring plant height, number of productive tillers, and flowering age. Observation of physiological characters by measuring stomatal conductance, and transpiration. The results showed that the morphological response decreased plant height, increased the number of productive tillers, and accelerated flowering time. Physiological response to narrow stomatal conductance, transpiration.
