Abstract
AbstractThe rehabilitation of substandard housing (Rumah Tidak Layak Huni or RTLH) program is an effort of both central and local governments to provide decent housing for the low-income community. Over the past four years, Plandi Village has received substandard housing rehabilitation grants in the form of building materials and cash. This research will describe the physical and non-physical benefits felt by the beneficiaries using a qualitative descriptive method based on interviews, literature studies, and related documents. The results show that the beneficiaries can experience physical benefits in the form of a house that is suitable for habitation which is sturdy and healthy in providing enough light and sanitation as well as a standardized building floor area. Meanwhile, the non-physical benefits obtained are improved and more functional space to carry out daily activities in the house, even increasing their social status.
