Abstract

Abstract Vannamei shrimp (Litopeaeus vannamei) is main commodity as well as a mainstay export product in the aquaculture industry program. One of the problems faced in this case of the spawning process caused by poor air quality, especially at temperature thah can increase energy production. The energy released by the vaname shrimp comes from glucose in the haemocytes. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature differences on Oxygen Consumption Level (OCL) and stress level in the spawning prcocess of vaname shrimp. This research is experimental using Completely Randomized Design (RAL). This study used 4 treatments, including 28°C as a control, 30°C, 32°C, and 34°C. The results were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the DMRT. The result of this study indicate that the difference in temperature affects the Oxygen Consumption Level (OCL) and stress level in the spawning process of vaname shrimp (p<0,05). The treatment that has a major influence on the value of the (OCL) and stress level (by measure to blood glucose levels) is at 34°C for OCL with values range from 0,74 – 0,822 mg/O2/gr/jam and for stress level mostly influences temperature is 32°C and 34°C with values range from 45,6 – 64,8 mg/dL.
