Abstract
Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of zeolite supplementation on performance in broilers. A total of 216 old broilers were used in a fully randomized study for three treatments (three replicates each, n=24 each). The basic diet was provided with T1 control, T2 and T3 control diets with 0.5 and 1% zeolite, respectively. The results showed that birds supplemented with 1.0% zeolite were effective in increasing body weight and weight gain compared to T2 and control treatments. It was found that adding zeolite to the birds’ feed significantly increased feed intake compared to T2 and control treatments. In addition, there was a significant difference between treatments in feed conversion efficiency. In summary, this experiment showed that the use of zeolite as a feed additive for broilers increased body weight, weight gain and feed intake of the broiler, thereby improving the feed.
