Abstract
Indonesia is one of the most populated countries in Southeast Asia, and this study attempts to identify the important elements that influence the maturity of Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) in Indonesia. To assess previous studies undertaken in the SEA relevant to the creation of Solid Waste Management, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted. A qualitative method was used to investigate the trends and patterns of MSWM by doing a literature review and assessing the news broadcasted on the country’s most popular website. The findings suggest that, first and foremost, excellent government policy can only work if it is supported by good implementation. Second, the existing solid waste management model does not include the most significant aspects as a tool. As a result, a suggested model of Solid Waste Management may assist the Indonesian government in managing it in a sustainable manner.
