Abstract
An experiment was conducted to study the effect of adding the phytonutrient “Disper Complex” either spraying or adding it as a drench to the soil, on vegetative and flowering growth qualities of carnation (Dianthus Chinensis L.). The experiment was carried out in the lath house of the Horticulture and Landscaping Department Research Station for the year 2020-2021. The experiment included six treatments: (T1) 0 (without application), (T2) 0.75 g L-1 foliar spray, (T3) 1.5 g L-1 foliar spray, (T4) 3 g L-1 foliar spray, (T5) 0.3 g L-1 adding to the soil as a drench, and (T6) 0.6 g L-1 adding to the soil as a drench. Phytonutrient was sprayed and also added to the soil as a drench three times at two-week Intervals between each other, the first spray and adding was carried out a month after the transplanting process. The experiment was carried out by using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The experimental unit included six pots, one plant in each. The results were as follows: Foliar spraying of phytonutrient “Disper Complex” with a concentration of 3 g L-1 surpassed on increasing plant height (19.25 cm), number of branches (8.92 branch plant-1), number of leaves (44.70 leaf plant-1), leaf area (199.81 cm2), leaves relative chlorophyll content (42.47 SPAD) and number of flowers (7.83 flower plant-1), followed by adding plant nutrient as a drench to the soil at 0.6 g l-1 compared with control treatment. There were no significant effects of plant nutrients on main stem diameter, flower diameter, and Flowering date.
