Abstract
The main purpose of the article is the formalization of the concept of “natural safety” in nuclear technology. Some concepts encountered in the design of complex technical objects, including nuclear power plants, are referred to as intuitive concepts. These are “natural safety”, “inherent safety”, “ultimate safety” and others. The solution of the problem is based on the use of the shifted ideal method for solving discrete multicriteria tasks. For clarity, two criteria are considered as an example. The problem of maximizing these criteria is solved. As a result of the study, it was possible to formalize the basic concepts used in the design of new generation safe nuclear reactors. The significance of the article is that such formalized concepts can be used in the design of new equipment and new enterprises for various purposes, including those related to the production of electrical energy.
