Abstract

Abstract The research was conducted to determine the effect of feed protein level on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion of finisher male Super Java chicken. The materials used were 168 male Super Java chick of 3 weeks old and average body weight 154.34 ± 9.74 g. and give treatment at 3 until 8 weeks. The method used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments (P1: 14%; P2: 16%; P3: 18% and P4: 20%) and 6 replications. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and if the result show significatly different than continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that the higher protein level in the feed resulted in increased (P<0.01) feed consumption and body weight gain but reduced feed conversion. It can be concluded that the best level is P4 with 20% protein level with feed consumption of 2066,83 ± 78,91 g, body weight gain of 638,79 ± 24,32 g and feed conversion of 3,29 ± 0,08 (during observation with the age of 3 untill 8 weeks).
