Abstract
Reviews the existing skills and experience of facilities
operations, areas which tend to have been neglected in favour of
effective planning, design and specification, which represent the more
professional approach to facilities management. Discusses the services
which need to be provided under the categories of premises, environment,
hotel, amenity, operation; and the support both operational and
business, all of which must be validated to ensure that they are fully
developed and meet the needs of customers. Concludes that quality
control of facilities operations is supported by effective
computer‐based information systems.
