Abstract
This outlook paper presents a 2019 study by the authors Atkočiūnienė and Vaznonienė on the development of smart villages for sustainable regional rural development. The presented study deals with the prerequisites for the development of rural areas and analyses the drivers of smart villages in five Lithuanian rural areas.
