Abstract

Hand accidents are frequent disorders in medical services. These can occur due to a work or home accident and in all cases it is about recovering the greatest possible functionality of the hand. The conditions in which the patient arrives at the emergency room determine the treatment that specialists must define and the operating procedure to be applied in each case. The pedicled hand graft technique in the treatment of amputation of the pad of the fourth finger is one of the alternatives used and the collaboration offered by the patient contributes greatly during recovery. Some cases may be more affected by the incidence of underlying diseases that delay recovery and assimilation of a medication. A case is presented where the defined procedure was satisfactory for the patient and the recovery of the main functions of the hand affected in the accident.
