Stress level in nursing professionals in a hospital center during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Stress is all psychoemotional tension experienced by nursing professionals during the coronavirus pandemic, therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the level of stress in nursing professionals of a hospital center during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and non-experimental study, with a population of 127 nursing professionals, who completed a questionnaire of sociodemographic data and the nursing stress scale. In their results, 12.6% (n=16) of nurses have high stress, 40.9% (n=52) medium stress and 46.5% (n=59) low stress. In conclusion, it is necessary to create programs oriented to mental health, training in resilient skills and coping strategies towards stress.
