Abstract
An account is given of the occurrence ofParabothrium gadi-pollachiiandAbothrium gadiin some members of the Gadidae caught in the north-eastern Atlantic.The external features, musculature, excretory, nervous and genital systems of the two species are described in detail.The adults of both species are characterized by the absence of a typical pseudophyllidean scolex and possess interesting modes of attachment to the intestine and caeca of the host. The variation found in individuals ofA. gadifrom the cod and haddock is discussed.
