Abstract
SummaryBenzodiazepines were first used in schizophrenia because of their anxiolytic properties. At high doses, or in association with neuroleptics, diazepam and estazolam also appears to exhibit an antihallucinatory effect, whereas alprazolam preferably acts on negative symptomatology due to its antidepressant properties.
