Abstract
SUMMARYThe rate of development of resistance to Du-Ter in Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) has been determined. The results show that true resistance to Du-Ter could not be induced throughout 33 successive generations. Also, it was found that the rate of development of resistance to DDT in the DDT + Du-Ter strain after being selected with DDT + Du-Ter pressure for 17 successive generations was 11·5- and 43-fold that in the DDT strain. It is concluded that the application of DDT and Du-Ter mixture, having dissimilar modes of action, considerably controls the development of resistance to DDT.
