Abstract
An experiment using 528 day-old chicks was conducted to determine the nutritional effects of terephthalic acid, when added at the rate of 0·4% to a ration containing 100 g. oxytetracycline per ton, in the rearing of chicks to 30 days of age in East Africa. No significant gains were produced in the growth rates or feed-conversion rates, of male and female chicks of four cross-breeds, over the periods 0–10, 0–20 and 0–30 days of age.
