Abstract
ABSTRACTThe lipolytic activity of porcine lipid mobilizing factor, a pituitary peptide, was potentiated by porcine serum when measured in a rabbit fat-cell suspension. The potentiation caused by sera from 54 individual pigs which had been bred using backfat thickness and growth rate as selection criteria was examined. No significant correlation was found between the potentiation and either of these parameters.
