Abstract
AbstractWeak rotundity is defined. One version characterizes the duals of very smooth spaces, another characterizes the duals of extremely smooth spaces. Weak rotundity methods are used to investigate the differentiability of the norm in E**, and to obtain information about quotient spaces, when E** is smooth.
