The sub-littoral fauna of the Inverness, Cromarty and Dornoch Firths

Abstract

SynopsisThe sub-littoral fauna at eight stations in the Beauly and Inverness Firths, six stations in the Cromarty Firth and eight sites in the Dornoch Firth have been sampled and identified. The main components and trends in the fauna of the three firths are described. The three firths are compared in terms of their fauna and the reasons for differences suggested.
