Abstract
Salmonellainfection is fairly frequent in some animals, but is not very common in sheep. Moreover, food poisoning in man associated with mutton is comparatively rare. It is true thatS. typhi-muriumis sometimes referred to as the “mutton type” ofSalmonella(Schütze, 1920; Lovell, 1932b).
