Abstract
AbstractAccurate simulation of optical wavelength CCD spectra is possible by adopting a black-body representation for the radiation characteristics of the β Lyrae accretion disk rim. Application of this model to IUE spectra shows that the anomalous system light curves, in the satellite UV, arise from a source of radiation, not included in the current model, which is visible during the phase 0.0 eclipse.
