Abstract
ABSTRACTIt is shown that the problem of the diffraction of an arbitrary electromagnetic wave by a circular disk can be reduced to the solution of independent scalar problems. These latter problems are of a type which can be reduced to the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind and are particularly suitable for solution by approximate means at low frequencies.
