Abstract
AbstractNear-field transfer of gravitational energy for quasi-static axisymmetric systems is investigated by a perturbation method; a relativistic analogue of Bondi's Newtonian Poynting vector is defined. It is concluded that a quasi-static axisymmetric system can lose energy only in the presence of a receiver.
