XVII.—On the X-Ray Corpuscular Emission from Iron in a Magnetised and Unmagnetised State

Abstract

Sir A. Ewing in his paper, “On Models of Ferromagnetic Induction,” has suggested that there is something in the atom which turns in response to an applied magnetic field.In discussing the above it was suggested by Professor Barkla that it would be a matter of interest to study the X-ray corpuscular emission from iron when magnetised and unmagnetised, especially under the influence of very penetrating rays.
