Abstract
In a collection of larvae of Culcine mosquitos made in northern Iraq in 1952–56 during the course of a survey of potential Amopheline breeding places in the area, the folowing genera and species were represented:Uranoaenia unguiculataEdw.,Aedes caspius(Pall.)Culiseta longiareolata(Macq.),C. subochrea(Edq.),Culex theileriTheo.,C.tritaeniorhynchusGiles,C. pusillusMacq.,C. hortensisFic. andC. mimeticusNoé. The last two species are reported here for the first time from Iraq. The records ofCuliseta suochreaandCulec pusillusare based on a single larva of each.
