Abstract
AbstractThe chalcidoid parasites associated with galls on mango leaves and branches caused by Cecidomyiidae (mainly Procontarinia spp. in India) are taxonomically treated and keyed out. They include ten species belonging to five families (plus one treated elsewhere). The following taxa are described as new: in Torymidae, Mangostigmus gen. n. for Neomegastigmus amraeus Kurian; in Ormyridae, Ormyrulus gibbus gen. et sp. n.; in Pteromalidae, Gastrancistrus (Mangistrus subgen. n.) cherryi sp. n.; and in Eulophidae, Aprostocetus sankarani sp. n., Mangocharis longiscapus gen. et sp. n. and Chrysonotomyia obesula sp. n. The name Gastrancistrus mangiferae Subba Rao is placed in synonymy under G. muneswari Yadav. Two probable new synonymies are suggested under Chrysonotomyia.
