Abstract
The principal features of the motion of Hidalgo over the interval 1400–2900 are described. The possibility that this object is an extinct (or nearly extinct) comet nucleus is discussed. A determination of the mass of Saturn, using observations of Hidalgo during 1920–1964, is presented and compared with other recent determinations.
