Abstract
Collections of woolly morningglory from New Mexico were determined to be tall morningglory (Ipomoea purpurea) or, in some cases, ivyleaf morningglory (I. hederacea) by misapplication. Woolly morningglory is a variant of tall morningglory with lobed leaves known asI. purpureavar.diversifoliaby some sources, although modern taxonomists consider this variant to be undeserving of variety rank.
