Abstract
AbstractWe study the Dehn functions of the fundamental groups of complexes of groups. We study a function known as the Howie function, which has a natural geometric formulation. We make use of the Howie function to obtain an upper bound for the Dehn function of the complex of groups. And we show a connection between the Howie function and actions on complexes.
