Abstract
1. Two experiments with 52 lambs are described investigating the use of reconstituted cold milk for rearing lambs and comparing full cream dried milk with a milk substitute.2. The use of cold milk resulted in high growth rates and few health problems.3. Satisfactory food conversion efficiencies were obtained by feeding of cold reconstituted whole milk and cold milk substitute.4. During the first 3 weeks of rearing, the growth rates and food conversion efficiencies on the milk substitute were similar to those obtained on the full cream milk.
