Abstract
Investigations on the effect of seed rates and cutting treatments on the inflorescence formations and yield of seed were carried out on S. 100, S. 184 and Kent wild white clover during 1957–60 at Cambridge. The study of primordial development under field conditions, establishment of the major characters contributing to the final yield and the factors affecting their contribution were the main object of these investigations. These factors and their relationship and contribution to the final yield results are discussed in some detail.
