Abstract
Dealing with difficult patients or their family members is never easy. However, knowing how to navigate these challenging interactions is essential for providing quality care, professional service, stress reduction, and patient compliance and retention. Understanding the factors contributing to patient anger and identifying the levels at which anger is expressed are discussed. Interventions to mitigate and de-escalate patient anger are also outlined.
