Application of cold wet road concrete mix with modified dispersed viscous bitumen for operative patch works

Abstract

One of the directions of road surfaces operative patch works provision in spring period is the possibility of materials and technologies development of warehoused cold wet road concrete mix with clamp storage period is up to several years according to the technology of scientific school of professor Gornayev Nikolay Alekseevich of Saratov State Technical University. In this article the questions of cold wet road concrete mix application with modified dispersed viscous bitumen for patch work in Kuvandyk town of Orenburg region are considered. The time to repair the pothole after its discovery was 10 minutes. According to road workers with many years of experience, manual laying of asphalt mix with dispersed bitumen was not different in labour intensity from work with hot mix, while working conditions with cold mix were much better. Working mixture compaction brings water from the composition to the surface of the arranged asphalt concrete layer and, further, evaporates, and particles of viscous bitumen in the mineral material shell are destroyed and at the limits give the usual film coating of mineral particles in the form of mastic, various types of asphalt concrete and other asphalt materials. Two patents have been obtained by the authors on this technology. When the repair results were examined after three years, the facility was found to be in good condition.
