Abstract
A modified version of the IAWPRC activated sludge model was developed to describe the performance of laboratory and pilot scale Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBR). Changes of COD, ammonia and NOx during the SBR process cycle could be reliably predicted after the model parameters were adapted to SBR conditions. Most promising process strategies could be identified with the aid of a simulation program.
