Methods for Calculating Areal Precipitation – Applied to the Suså-Catchment

Abstract

Experiments in the Suså-catchment aimed at the study of relations between precipitation patterns and field characteristics are used in calculations of areal precipitation. A statistical analysis of precipitation data is outlined. A new method – the TTSI method – of calculating areal precipitation is presented and discussed in relation to traditional methods. Along with areal precipitation estimates confidence bounds for areal precipitation values are determined.
