Abstract

The article briefly describes the prerequisites for the emergence of the blue economy concept. Characteristics are given of the international innovative business standards that have emerged on its basis (Practical guidance for implementing the Sustainable Ocean Principles of the UN Global Compact, Sustainable Blue Economy Finance Principles of the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative) and new types of financial instruments (blue bonds and debt-for-nature swap). Particular attention is paid to the development of the market for financing a sustainable development in the Russian Federation and the prospects for the emergence of blue bonds on it.
