Abstract
1. Fluorescence and absorption spectra are given for oestrone, oestradiol-17β, and oestriol compounds, in response to exciting light of five different wavelengths.
2. An estimate has been made of the 'fluorescence efficiency' of each exciting wavelength.
3. On the basis of the above data, recommendations for sources of light and filters for the routine fluorimetric estimation of oestrogens are put forward.
