Abstract
SUMMARY
The effect of methallibure, a non-steroidal pituitary inhibitor, on the growth and nitrogen retention of young rats treated with ovine growth hormone has been studied. Growth hormone induces nitrogen retention and body growth and this effect was suppressed by the simultaneous administration of methallibure. The possibility that the drug acts as an antimetabolite is discussed.
