Abstract

In teaching Turkish to Kyrgyz students, the student's conscious perception of grammar issues contributes to reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. Therefore, it has a special place to bring the grammar teaching to the student functionally. The purpose of the study is to test the studied grammatical structures, taking into account the knowledge and experience of Kyrgyz students of the B2 level studying the Turkish language. The research was carried out by applying descriptive survey model. The study group consists of 24 Kyrgyz students studying at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in the 2021-2022 academic year. The research data was obtained through the students' written work. The students were asked to write an article on “Generational Conflict”. After the students completed the written work, the content was studied. According to the data received, it was determined that there were the most grammatical errors; vocabulary errors were determined to be in the second place. Examining grammatical errors, it was evident that most of the errors were in the denotative suffixes. In particular, when using the suffix, there was a negative transfer of native language sentences. However, it was determined that the students did not make mistakes regarding phonetics. As a result of the study, most of the student work was at a good level, and considering the mistakes made, it was concluded that mostly negative transfers of mother tongue were made. In this context, various suggestions were made for students to make fewer grammatical errors.
