Abstract

Importance. The possibilities of using chatbots to create learning materials when teaching English phrasal verbs are considered. The purpose of the research is to provide examples of assignments generated through the artificial intelligence and to analyze the learning materials in terms of their suitability to achieve learning goals. Materials and Methods. The ChatGPT & Midjourney chatbot in the Telegram messenger was used to generate learning materials to practice English phrasal verbs on various topics that are included in the curricula of educational programs at non-linguistic universities. The assignments were divided into groups by the exercise type in order to further identify their didactic potential. Methods of comparison, classification, and generalization of the results were used. Results and Discussion. The analysis of the main problems arising when learning and teaching English phrasal verbs is presented. The problems related to the use of artificial intelligence technologies to create learning materials are identified. Ways to solve the emerging problems are proposed. Conclusion. The use of artificial intelligence technologies is a promising area of modern linguodidactics. Creating educational materials using chatbots can significantly facilitate the work of a foreign language teacher and increase the efficiency of mastering phrasal verbs through the use of additional materials generated to solve specific educational problems.
