Abstract
Abstract
On chemical, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic evidences the structure of the so-called sulfurylindoxyl was found to be 2-aminophenyl methyl sulfone (4) and not the benzo-thiazoline-1,1-dioxide (7) claimed by Claasz [1]. Contrary to data in the literature [2] the title compound gives only one sort of monoacetyl derivatives: 2-acetamidophenyl methyl sulfone (10). An unambiguous synthesis of 3-acetylbenzothiazoline-1,1-dioxide (8) is presented.
